4th of July is no longer a one day celebration, but rather a week or weekend-long celebration! This past Sunday, Custom Sarongs attended Intervention at the Hard Rock in San Diego for a friend's birthday. Intervention is an outdoor pool party in San Diego's downtown area featuring different DJs every weekend. This past Sunday's featured DJ was a duo called Manufactured Superstars who put on a great show.

It was extremely on Sunday so we had to jump into the pool every now and then to take a breather. The astroturf was cool and we had a blast hanging around the day bed. As usual, our sarongs were a big hit, and it was fun waving them around, using them to keep the sun away, and taking pictures with them.  

Our new collection is almost here. We should have the new sarongs in by next week. Stay tuned! 

Our sarongs were a hit at the Marquee Day Club Pool Party at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. We brought a variety of different flag sarongs that provided good fun throughout the day. Dipping the sarongs in water and using them to cool us down under the hot sun was priceless. Beautiful people, beautiful location, beautiful music, and beautiful sarongs - what more could you ask for?  

Pool parties are the new standard in Vegas, and I can't wait to go back next year. I haven't had that much fun in a long time. Sarongs are a definite MUST for any pool party in Vegas.  

We were at the OC Fair Swapmeet all day Saturday, and boy was it was hot one!!

Our booth was located on a corner spot, near the lemonade stand and Union Bank ATM machine. Many people came to our booth and were interested in the reggae/rasta and flag sarongs. I also sold a few tropical designs and even a Che Guevarra poster. The swapmeet was packed with people and everyone had an icecream or beer in their hand. 

The Modern Sarong will be a regular vendor at the OC Fair Swapemeet. We will try and be present at least two Saturdays or Sundays every month. 

This past weekend was amazing! I spent four days in Colorado, two of which I spent skiing in Vail. The weather was perfect, the people were friendly, the resort was impeccable, and life overall just seemed a little better.

Vail is one of the biggest ski resorts in the nation. In just two days, we barely scratched the surface. We ventured through most of the front side near Lions Head. Even the front side was difficult to navigate. After every lift, we were constantly having to stop and look at a map. After awhile, we just gave up and ended up getting lost and finding our way clear across the mountain to Vail Village. 

The California Sarong I brought really came in handy. I tied both ends up, wrapped it around my neck twice, and used it as a scarf. It really came in handy when the winds picked up and needed to protect my ears and neck. Check out the cool photos I took with my handy dandy sarong.
